I have mixed feelings about Las Vegas and, as a result, have a hard time photographing it without falling into the usual visual traps: HDR, time-lapses, etc... So the challenge for myself was "shoot it in black and white." It was interesting. Hopefully, these images will age well. It is such a unique city: nothing is real but it feels authentic--in a manipulative way. At every turn you are being swindled, either by someone, some thing or a system set in place many years ago. I can't figure it out. I hate it but I love it with the same intensity.
